Room and board is included. Most of our housing is shared bedrooms with baths. Due to shared living arrangements we do not allow pets on the ranch. If applying for a Wrangler position, we ask for a video of your horsemanship skills and riding abilities, and prefer previous guest ranch experience as a wrangler. JOB DESCRIPTIONS: WRANGLER Wranglers require excellent horsemanship abilities, proven guest service skills and the desire to work long hard days in a hands-on learning environment. Previous guest ranch experience is preferred as well as a video of your horsemanship skills and riding abilities. Responsibilities include horse care, rider safety, riding instruction, barn/ranch maintenance, adult rides, children rides, guest services and overall guest attention. Wranglers need to work in a team environment, be able to think for themselves and handle emergency situations. SERVER / HOUSEKEEPING This position requires previous serving experience and a guest service attitude. The position rotates each week between housekeeping duties and the kitchen, as a server and dishwasher. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to serving adults and children three meals a day; cleaning and setting the dining room; cleaning, opening and closing the kitchen; assisting the chef and head housekeeper; BBQ set-up and breakdown; dishwashing; cleaning cabins, beds, bathrooms and common areas; and laundry. MAINTENANCE PERSON This position requires previous landscaping and light agricultural experience. Responsibilities include daily chores, lawn mowing, light engine maintenance, tractor driving and maintenance, operating a chainsaw, stocking firewood, general maintenance skills, physically challenging work, guest service attitude and a valid drivers license. Other duties may include watering, irrigation, transporting guests to and from the airport, BBQ set-up and breakdown, and other ranch-related chores. Maintenance employees work closely with the ranch manager and the agriculture department and need to be able to think for themselves and handle emergency situations. KIDS WRANGLER This position requires excellent horsemanship abilities, past experience working with kids, such as a camp counselor, and the desire to work long hard days in a hands-on learning environment. Previous guest ranch experience is preferred. Responsibilities include horse care, rider safety, riding instruction, barn/ranch maintenance, kids trail rides, guest services and overall guest attention. Kids Wranglers will focus on our Kids Program which is oriented around the barn and horses. If you love kids and riding, this position is for you. You will be riding everyday! AGRICULTURE ASSISTANT Previous farm experience is preferred for this position. Responsibilities include running and maintaining irrigation, tractors, and hay equipment, small machine maintenance, general ranch maintenance and a guest service attitude. Agriculture Assistants need to be able to think for themselves and handle emergency situations. HEAD CHEF Previous professional cooking experience and a culinary degree are preferred for our Head Chef position. The cuisine will range from ranch style to plated gourmet. Responsibilities include hands-on preparation, cooking and overseeing of three meals each day for up to 30 guests and 20 crew, BBQ’s, baking and all food-related items for the ranch. Head Chef will be directly responsible for cooking and overseeing kitchen staff - this is a true working chef position. You will have an assistant chef and a baker. Creative and adaptive menu design, cooking, presentation, ordering, food cost, inventory and portion control are all specifics that you will manage. Maintaining quality food production is of the utmost importance. This position requires an adaptable individual that can teach, has a guest service attitude, works well with others and has a driven work ethic. We have a high standard of excellent cuisine that must be met. ASSISTANT CHEF Previous professional cooking is required for our Assistant Chef position. Responsibilities include preparing breakfast and lunch for up to 30 guests and 20 crew, baking, kids cookouts and receiving weekly food deliveries. This position requires a guest service attitude and the ability to work independently as well as take direction and work in a team environment. NANNY We are searching for an enthusiastic, responsible, energetic and active person who enjoys being outside, and is child-oriented to live on the ranch premises from mid-May to mid-September, 2008. Responsibilities include caring for our two young children, Ellory, 4, and Paedon, 2. We will provide room and board, laundry facilities, email and phone access, monthly salary and a performance-based end of season bonus. We are looking for someone who has lots of energy, loves children, is creative and comfortable around animals, has a mature attitude and is responsible in the home. Our nanny will be responsible for getting the kids up in the morning, daily hygiene, getting them dressed and ready for the day, maintaining nap and bedtime schedules, help at mealtimes, entertaining and playing with them, keeping the house tidy of toys and sippy cups, and taking them to participate in various ranch activities. We want someone who will take an active part in our children’s lives, from reading and playing, to pony rides and swimming. References are a must and a thorough background check will be administered. |
